Around the World Wednesdays: Alyona wears a Vintage Kimono

Today, I’m interrupting the regularly scheduled coverage of 1970’s Revival for this amazing installment of Around the World Wednesdays featuring the FLAWLESS beauty of Alyona in an Asian-inspired OOTD.  In case you haven’t caught on… Asian Global Fashion is kinda my thing.  I find it very difficult not to buy every vintage kimono I find.  When I came across the beautiful vintage Kimono I styled Alyona in today, I couldn’t help but give in.  A few weeks ago, the annual MET Gala celebrated the opening of the “China: Through the Looking Glass” Exhibit at the Costume Institute.  This focus on Asian Fashion will no doubt result in a surge of Asian-inspired trends in the upcoming year.

I have a habit of styling kimonos over fringe dresses.  The blue mini-dress Alyona is wearing is from the 1960’s and matches the Kimono perfectly.  I accessorized her outfit with various gold accessories.  Her snake necklace is a part of the collaboration of Anna dell Russo with H&M from a few years back.  The vintage gold sphere purse works well with the Asian theme and the multi-color suede stilettos bring the whole look together.
