Today’s Around the World Wednesday is an outfit I wore during a recent trip to Paris. Sadly, I arrived to Paris less than a week after the recent terrorist attacks. It was a sad and slightly scary time to travel; in hindsight, I am glad that I chose to still go and show my support for the city and it’s people. Over the next week or two, I plan to share more about my trip in a Photo Journal; for today, I thought I would start by sharing some photos my girlfriend Jeanne and I snapped of each other on the last day of our trip. While it was unseasonably warm in Europe for late November, it was (unfortunately) pouring rain the entire time we were there. However, during our final hours, the storm clouds finally cleared to a brilliant, sunny day that was perfect for taking a stroll along The Seine.
My outfit was built around a new favorite suede dress I purchased from Nasty Gal. This dress was part of their 1970’s-inspired Fall collection and quickly SOLD OUT. I am so glad I snagged one for myself before they were gone; the colors and studded details make this dress one I will wear year after year. To add some warmth, I styled the dress over a deep red turtleneck from Zara.
Because this dress is such a stand-alone piece, I chose minimal accessories. For jewelry I chose an oversized vintage cross necklace from the 90’s Grunge Era. I love the tassels on my purple 1970’s bag. Finally, my ankle boots were a STEAL I found at Forever 21; look at that sleek, architectural heel!
