I have decided that I am creating a new hashtag called “Flashback Friday” (aka #fbf) for those of us who can not seem to remember #TBT every week. Despite my intention of planning ahead to post this throwback to this 1970’s Psychedelic Caftan that I wore to a Disco-Romeo-and-Juliet-themed Valentines Day Party, I failed: #FBF.
This outfit is build around this insane psychedelic caftan from the 70’s that I bought from (you guessed it) The House of Findings. Caftans were all the rage in the 1970’s, and despite their similarity to shapeless “Moo-Moos”, they can still be worn in a very chic and sexy way. For instance, today, instead of wearing it over the matching dress it came with, I chose to pair it with a sexier coral mini-dress from the 60’s. When I emerged from my room with the complete look, my roommate immediately and accurately labeled the look “Palm Beach Barbie”.
My accessories include vintage jewelry, an insane pink turban, and a perfect-condition, beaded bag from the 1960’s. I love the triangular-shape of my bright orange lucite bracelet. Finally, I completed the look with orange patent wedges that are the perfect height for dancing the night away. I included some pictures from the Babel NY Party at Queen of the Night on Valentines Day– one of the best parties I have ever been to, by far. Thanks Babel
