Halloween Inspiration: Alice in Wonderland

IMG_5253

We are T- Minus three days from the best holiday ever– Halloween. Over the past week, I have been sharing several different Halloween Costume Inspirations; todays Alice in Wonderland looks are, by far, my favorite.  I shot this Disney-inspired shoot on the grounds of Disney World, while home in Orlando visiting my family.  If you haven’t already, check out another look I shot that day in outfits inspired by Mickey and Minnie Mouse:

Around the World Wednesday: Orlando

I built the Mad Hatters outfit around an insane coat my mother actually made as a costume for Burning Man.  I layered the coat over ruffled pieces on my neck and cuffs, zany striped pants, and wacky argyle vest and socks.  My accessories start with the Mad Hatter signature accessory: a (miniature) top hat, of course!  I also chose to accessorize with dark framed glasses and multi-color loafers that are completely encrusted in Swarovski crystals– shoes so fabulous, only the Maddest of Hatters can pull them off.

For my play on Alice, I chose to style my friend Amanda in a midriff baring white blouse, tied to the front paired with a pleated light blue skirt by Jil Sander.  She has the traditional accessories expected of an Alice: black head band, white knee socks, and black shoes.  My favorite of her accessories, however, are  the necklaces made of keys.
