How to Wear a Leather Harness and Not Look Raunchy…

Green Coat 11

Leather Harnesses and BDSM-inspired accessories have been popping up for a few seasons now…  It seems society and the fashion world are obsessed with the typically taboo, garments reserved for naughty creatures of the night.  Remember when Fendi did a whole line of summer stripper heels?  I certainly do, and they have sat happily in their place on the shelf ever since.  They are nearly impossible to walk in.  I’ll show you later how I style them pretty.

Today I will show you how I wear the accessory WITHOUT looking raunchy.  Yes, it is possible :)  Of course, I am no stranger to the trend of making my nightwear into daywear.

Check out this post to see how I styled a vintage nightgown for everyday.

The trick is to keep everything else the opposite of raunch.  This BCBG Harness is in white leather, which already makes it less aggressive.  To keep the hemlines long, I styled it over a Fendi dress, over a long pleated skirt.  The pop of jewel-tone green in the vintage coat along with the pops of emerald in my accessories brought it all together.  I think this look is edge-y, sexy, fun.

The accessories are my favorite part of this outfit.  In addition to the BCBG Leather Harness, I am wearing a combination of vintage and modern jewelry.  I am wearing (mostly) pops of green in my accessories, my favorite of which is the Vintage Gucci Lizard Shoulder Bag— amazing right??  My earrings and necklace are from Forever 21.  My sexy stilettos are by Michael Kors.
