In case you didn’t know it, the South Street Seaport in Manhattan (where most of my blog photos are taken) is becoming the hot new ‘hood. We have brand new shopping, food, and events coming this summer as well as LOTS of new developments about to break ground in the next year. In fact, Refinery29 did a breakdown of all that is fabulous in the financial district today in their mailer. While construction can be a pain for nearby city-dwellers, it can also be sexy… and I am proving in todays InstaStyle post from my Instagram (@gingersnapsnyc if you aren’t already following!)
Tall red cranes, yellow caution tape, attractive– errrr sweaty construction men… bring on the upgrades, Financial District!
The skirt I am wearing is a vintage Christian Dior Comic Book Skirt from, I’m guessing, the 80’s. It is one of my very favorite pieces in my wardrobe. I am also sporting the limited edition black and blue Chanel shoulder bag that (surprisingly) goes with everything. I was gonna swap it out for the classic, but I am glad I opted to be a little more cutting edge and keep it!
I am also wearing BLUE nail polish from Maybelline New York Color Show line… I have been particularly adventurous this summer with my nail lacquer choices and this has been my All-time Favorite so far… what do you think of it? It’s called Pacific Blues and is the perfect blue/purple shade.
The accessories really mix high and low with the cheapie Forever 21/ H&M jewelry and the high-end Kiki De Montparnasse belt, Chanel Handbag, and (of course) Christian Louboutin Boot. If you aren’t familiar with Kiki De Montparnasse, it’s a luxury lingerie line that also carries a few choice jewelry and accessory pieces like this belt. I have probably worn this belt more than any other in my wardrobe
