It’s no secret that I love hats: vintage, big, small, in the summer, in the winter, in a house, on a boat… you get the picture. With Fashion Week upon us, I wanted to feature one of my favorite milliners who is the only to show at the Lincoln Center during NYFW: Anya Caliendo. Her quirky approach to couture millinery has been catching my eye for years. Who else makes ice cream cones into fascinators? Take a look at some of my favorites below and comment on which one you think I should add to my collection!

My favorite of her designs are, of course, her Vintage Inspired Hats. There is nothign more timeless than a beautiful pillbox or tilt hat. The first pictured below is a dramatic purple creation from her most recent presentation at NYFW. My favorite of her vintage inspired pieces is a pink mod 60’s felt hat (pictured second below.) So Twiggy!
Turbans are big, big, BIG this season (check out how I wore the trend last year in this Turban OOTD). Anya Caliendo has done several different takes on the vintage revival trend, but my favorites are the ones she does in avant-garde style with piles of silk flowers stacked on top.
Anya Caliendo is no stranger to Haute Couture, but she often creates high fashion in the quirkiest, novel ways. My absolute favorite piece of all time is this red-crystal encrusted “Love Beetle” from her Spring 2014 Collection. She has also made mundane, silly things like caviar cans and ice cream cones into show-stopping creations. See for yourself below, which one is your favorite?
