Colorful Fabrics and Prints on Mod Silhouettes make up the looks from my first OOTD photographed on a recent trip to London. Situated in a park outside of government buildings, we were bringing a bit of brightness to an otherwise serious, gray locale.
I think the 60’s were IT for fashion and fashion photography; give me a Twiggy ensemble any day of the week. I have had many a mod moment on GingerSnaps, but my favorite was this Black and White OOTD featuring a dress by Karl Lagerfeld. Mega-MOD. Mega-CHIC.
Shopping in London absolutely MUST include a stop at the TopShop Flagship on Regent Street. It is basically a fifteen-floor Fashion Heaven. In addition to the typical, fashion-forward-and-wallet-pleasing finds carried at other stores, the flagship also features tons of made-for-TopShop Collections by Indie London designers. They even carry a VINTAGE Collection curated by Peekaboo Vintage! (Stay tuned for more on Peekaboo soon…)
I was in London less than 12 hours before having my obligatory TopShop Spree. Consequently, this Mod OOTD is nearly all pieces from the store. They have an especially large selection of jewelry, which I indulged in on a near-binge level. Expect to see me in TopShop jewelry for the rest of the foreseeable future.
(On the Left) I am wearing a silk dress by French Connection that is at least 7 years old (!!) The loose, tunic style never goes out of style, especially in this bright geometric print. I am wearing it over RED TopShop tights and ORANGE patent wedges by Nine West (see another way I wear these wedges in this InstaStyle Post this past summer). My top necklace, earrings, ring, and coat are all vintage. The over-sized lucite necklace is from TopShop.
I found Gemmas’ hot pink ruffled crop-top in the Miss Selfridge Boutique of TopShop. Her longer lucite necklace and quirky bird hosiery are also from the store. The Zara shorts she wears were a blogger sensation last year. Back by popular demand, Zara is currently selling the same cut in different colors and mediums, including LEATHER! Yum! The shorter necklace and earrings are from Forever21 and her suede boots are by Moda in Pelle for TopShop. Gemma has the perfect toned body for this crop-top, but you could also wear it more conservatively with a high-waisted pencil skirt. For more on how to wear the trend yourself, check out this OOTD Post featuring crop-tops by Anna Sui and Tara Jamon.
