NYFW Diary: Baroque OOTD and Sheer Trend for Spring 2015

GingerSnaps NYFW Baroque OOTD 2

Today I’m sharing a Baroque OOTD from NYFW that I wore to the Laurel Dewitt Spring 2015 Runway Show.  One of my favorite parts of Fashion Week is running into other bloggers and stylists.  Faustina Rose of www.sofausti.com is one of New York Citys most creative styling talents.  We have a sort of psychic connection when it comes to what we wear at Fashion Week.  Not only are we both always in hats, but, more often that not, our outfits seem to coordinate.  Last February at Fashion Week, we both showed up to a show in head-to-toe, monochromatic red.  Check out todays NYFW OOTD below, where we coordinated all the way down to our embellished, sparkly shoes.  I guess it’s true what they say about great minds thinking alike…

Every piece of this OOTD has an ornate, Baroque quality.  My sheer blouse is by BCBG Max Azria (more on the Sheer Trend for Spring 2015 below).  I paired the blouse with a brocade skirt by Aquilano Rimondi, embroidered MCM handbag, vintage panther brooch (over my shoulder), and crystal-encrusted Casedei shoes.

I have included several my favorite Sheer Looks from the Spring 2015 Runways at NYFW following the photos of my Baroque OOTD.  For this trend, designers went one of two directions: lady-like with delicate sheer panels and lace or edgy with provocative mesh panels.  Erin Fetherston, Alice and Olivia, Christian Siriano, and Mariana Valentina chose a lady-like perspective on the Sheer Trend with full, sheer-paneled skirts and semi-sheer lace pencil skirts.  On the other side of the spectrum, Skingraft, Charlotte Ronson, and Prabal Gurung showed the edgier side of trend with mesh panels and sexy super-sheer panels that unapologetically exposed lots of skin.

Outfit Details:

Blouse: BCBG Max Azria, Bra: Victorias Secret, Skirt: Aquilano Rimondi, Hat: Vintage, Brooch: Vintage, Handbag: MCM, Shoe: Casedei
