NYFW Diary: Mod OOTD

NYFW Mod OOTD 1

Next up in my NYFW Diary, a Mod OOTD that is Retro from Head to Toe.  Everything I am wearing is vintage from my dress, to my earrings, purse, brooch, and SHOES.  These are the very first pair of vintage shoes I have ever owned.  After a day running around at NYFW comfortably, I have concluded that, with regard to footwear, women from back in the day had it made!  These shoes were unbelievably comfy.  Unfortunately, most of them didn’t have size 39 1/2 feet, so I remain on the hunt for another pair to add to my collection of 1.   The only exceptions to my otherwise vintage outfit are my Michael Kors sunglasses (which are retro-inspired) and my bracelets.  The bracelet on top is by Tiffany’s and was a very special gift from my friend David.  The artist designed it to appear “dented”, which is meant to symbolize the beauty in imperfection.  Such a special piece.

While at Lincoln Center to see the Mara Hoffman show, I was spotted by the photographer behind Runway Manhattan.  I have included a few of his shots below, and you can check out more of the street style he captured at Fashion Week and beyond at the link below.

I also grabbed a quick picture with a GingerSnaps reader and fellow vintage fashionista who flagged me down outside the Alon Livne Show at The Hudson Hotel.  It’s still surreal to meet my followers outside of cyberspace. Follow her incredible blog @lafashionsnob  and at www.lafashionsnob.com.
