OOTD: Monochrome, Halston Hats, and Modern Art

photo 3 (39)

Today I am sharing an OOTD I photographed in front of one of my favorite pieces of art in New York City.  Isamu Noguchi’s Red Cube in Lower Manhattan is a favorite of tourists and New Yorkers alike.  It’s been on my short list of places to shoot for GingerSnaps for a long time, but it’s popularity makes it difficult to get alone long enough to photograph.  We were lucky enough to have sympathetic crows that Saturday, and the results are some of my favorite to date.

In case you haven’t caught on, I love red, especially in monochrome.  This past Valentines Day, I showed you one way I wear Red Monochrome.  What better way to showcase the famous Red Cube than to be in red myself.

OOTD Details

My favorite part of this outfit is my Vintage Halston Hat.  Famous for revolutionizing American Sportswear with his signature Jersey Dress, Halston was iconic in the 1960’s and 70’s.  He began as a milliner, however, and his hats (including a very famous pillbox he made for Jacqueline Kennedy) are my favorite of his designs.

My Turtle Neck is by All Saints.  They are actually having a sale this weekend– use code TWENTY to get 20% Off all styles :)  You’re welcome.
