Today’s OOTD is all about the perfect shade of yellow on my newest vintage hat obsession. Ever since I found this hat, I have been building entire outfits around it. While it’s shape is unique, it is the perfect neutral hue of yellow helping it pair with most anything. I have several variations of vintage hats in this same hue. All of them get plenty of wear.
Because of it’s versatility , this soft spring yellow is also a GREAT color for investment handbags. Valentino did this fabulous studded leather carry all in a soft yellow. If shoulder straps are more your thing, Proenza Schouler did a version of the PS1 Bag in light yellow. PERFECT summer IT bags.
Today I built a Black and White OOTD around the yellow hat; after all, what’s more classic than Black and White? For another example of my Black and White styling check out my past post on the trend here: MOD Black and White OOTD.
Coat: Vintage, Dress: Zara, Earrings: Forever 21, Sunglasses: Vintage, Necklace: Vintage 1920’s Art Deco, Belt: BCBG Max Azria, Hat: Vintage, Handbag: Vintage, Hosiery: TopShop, Shoe: Bottega Veneta
My accessories are mostly vintage. I found the vintage sunglasses while traveling in Istanbul last year. Europe is the best place to shop vintage because it’s so much easier to find the really old stuff. Because the rings were both too large for me, I sized them by attaching them together behind my finger (with scotch tape, no less). My necklace is one of my VERY FAVORITE new finds. It’s vintage Art Deco from the 1920’s. I wish you could see the detailing up close. Jewelry this old is so beautiful down to every detail because it was made by hand.
The cinching belt I am wearing is from BCBG Max Azria. It is the perfect shaping belt because it actually flares out at the bottom. I wish I had bought it in every color available. My tights are by TopShop. They are definite head turners. Finally, the shoes are by Bottega Veneta and are so high they make just about anyone look like a runway model. Love!
