OOTD: What to Wear on a First Date

Karen Weaver First Date 2

Todays OOTD is from a beach shoot in Miami I did  couple of years ago (it was actually my first time shooting with Chris Knight, the man behind most of the photos on Ginger Snaps!)  Because of the phenomenon of dating apps like Tinder, the subject of dating is being discussed in nearly every publication I have picked up this month.  Alas, I thought an OOTD post about What Ginger Would Wear on a First Date was in order.

I bought the floral Gucci Dress I am wearing below a few summers ago when I caught a particularly strong case of Summer Fever and (literally) had a different date every night of the week.  The dress ended up jokingly referred to as, “The Perfect Date Dress”.  It was rotated extensively around my friends circle for their own dates.  This dress really is the perfect balance of classy and sexy; the bright floral print is eye catching, the length is classy and chic, and, best of all, the neckline shows just enough cleavage to amp up the sex factor without being to “in your face”.

It’s true a Gucci dress is an investment piece, but it is totally justified.  The classic silhouette will never go out of style and, because it is made from a synthetic blend, it still looks as new as the day I bought it.  I actually bought this dress around this time from the Nordstrom half-yearly sale.  Click the banner below to shop the sale and receive special discounts for Ginger Snaps Readers.
