Happy be-lated Labor Day, everyone! After a week off the grid and absent from posting here on GingerSnaps, I am excited to be back in New York City from the dusty streets of Burning Man. Even though my physical body arrived over 24 hours ago, it seems my brain was lost luggage… until now. While Labor Day Holiday is the ceremonial end of summer, the “season of skin” does not officially end until the 21st of September. This week I am taking advantage of my last opportunity to share summer-inspired attire. In addition, I will be sharing all of my favorites from the Spring 2016 Collections that are now showing at New York Fashion Week! Make sure to follow me on all social media @GingerSnapsNYC for real-time updates straight from the shows. Enjoy!
First up, todays’ OOTD was shot back in Spring, just as the tulips began to bloom. This outfit was built around, yet another, amazing Kate Spade Novelty Handbag: The Hot Air Balloon. You might remember this purse from my previous post featuring the Hot Air Balloon as well as the Frog handbag by Kate Spade. ICYMI, check it out here: Mod Madness and Retro Swim Caps.
Keeping with the pink-and-white color scheme of the bag, I chose a vintage 1960’s dress with adorable pink/light pink collar. My vintage hat is also in this color scheme; its color-blocking reminds me of a retro piece of candy. It is my first hat from the iconic New York Department Store, “Gimbels”. My flower earrings are also from the 1960’s, but my shoes with hot pink straps are a modern find from Rachel Roy.
A last note: Love the dress I am wearing today? Now, you can make it your own. I have been slowly listing pieces on eBay, again. You can purchase it, and many others, on my store link below:
