It wasn’t until after I did this shoot that I realized I look a bit like a priest in todays’ styling post… Both my brother and his wife are ministers, so I guess I can dedicate this post to them
The long vest was actually part of an amazing set I recently purchased from Deja Vu Vintage in Orlando. The dress is made of the same blue satin; I am sure I will showcase them together at some point this summer. However, before I even took the vest home, I immediately knew I would be styling it 70’s style over dark bell-bottom jeans. I recently had a discussion about bell-bottoms with a guy who thought the silhouette was “out of style”. It is true that a “belled” or even “boot-cut” jean is passe for men, but for women it is very hot this Spring. In fact, much to my delight, we have been enjoying the resurgence of hippy fashion for several seasons now, which is more than groovy with me.
The sunnies are from Linda Farrow. They are, hands down, my most complimented piece in my wardrobe. I often get told that I “wear them well”, which has become one of my favorite compliments to receive.
The jewelry is minimal and vintage. The shoe is a blue snakeskin version of the YSL Tribute. It is surprisingly versatile despite it’s bold, statement color.
