One of the hottest trends this Spring is to go “Sheer” in crochet, mesh, or transparent fabrics. Today’s post is the first of a series on how to pull of this, somewhat tricky, Spring Trend!
I built this outfit around a Vintage Mesh Knit Skirt from the 1970’s. The skirt can be worn at night, sans slip, over dark tights. During the day, I recommend opting in on a slip, though the editors of some of the biggest fashion magazines featured completely sheer pieces, sans undergarments, from many of last Fall’s Spring Runways. I guess it just depends what kind of job you have and how much controversy you want to stir up!
FYI, this Sleek Black Rabbit FUR JACKET is for sale on my eBay Store! Check out the listing here:
VINTAGE Black RABBIT FUR Coat Size S/M
I chose to counter the semi-see through skirt with a leather shell from (believe it or not!) Forever 21. The delicate lace Peter Pan collar makes it just the right amount of girl-y. I also layered a Vintage Crochet Tank underneath to add a little sparkle and dimension to the look. (You can see how I styled this same crochet tank a different way HERE
The yellow accessories are topped by this *Incredible* Vintage Chez Original Hat from eBay seller: grauncy. It is certainly a statement, conversation-starting piece taking this outfit from “pretty” to “stand out”, instantly. I also drew out the yellow in the outfit with this BCBG Yellow Clutch.
I also accessorized with black earrings, belt, and tights.
These Giraffe-printed Dior Peep-toe Heels are the final touch and really serve to bring the whole look together.
