Tribal Trends, Cropped Tops, and Versace

So I was in Brooklyn shooting a few months ago… and randomly this crowd of church go-ers (presumably Catholic) and priests came by singing and having some sort of ceremony.  I admired the colors of their flags and clothing, so we decided to shoot this look amongst their celebration.  How random and fabulous is New York City with all of it’s cultural and religious backgrounds?

The necklace and fringe of the Versace top I am wearing make this look a bit “tribal”.  According to the newly released September Issues, Tribal influence is definitely going to be present in fashion this Fall.  In addition, I think the Cropped-Top Trend is a great piece to incorporate into your outfits as your wardrobe transitions from Summer-Fall.  Pairing a cropped top with pants or a long skirt (the way I have done here with my camel-colored pants by Rag & Bone) gives you warmth but keeps with carefree summer style.  Camel is the new Khaki… in case you weren’t aware.  I have covered that trend in detail HERE.

All jewelry is from Forever 21.  I love how the geometric shape of the vintage beaded handbag plays on the shape of the earrings.  I also love how the tribal necklace plays on the fringe of the Versace top.  Tribal is going to be huge this year.  This piece is a must-have and it is still available in stores.
