Vintage Meets Superhero

Some days you just wanna feel like a Superhero.  When this occurs, I find the perfect answer is a Vintage 1970’s Swing Cape Coat, like the one I am wearing in today’s styling post.  Cape Coats are perfect for Spring, because they give warmth without totally blocking the cool breeze.  I also wear this coat over dark bell-bottoms for a totally 70’s feel.

Ascot collars are a big trend this Spring.  To mimic the trend, you can tie a neck-scarf in a bow and tuck underneath the collar of a regular shirt, or wear a “Bow Necklace” like the one I styled in THIS POST.

I kept the accessories simple and all black, because there is so much color and pattern in the cape and socks/shoes combo.

The shoes and socks give this outfit a “school-girl” feel.  I wish my school uniforms had been this cool growing up!  The shoes are a major “cheapie” from Forever 21.  While everyone has a different opinion on them, I love them and wish I had bought 2 more pairs.  Kate Spade did a similar heel-ed version of the Classic Oxford, which can be seen below.
